Children can’t change the world? Yes they can!

I was amazed when I first heard about the story of the 11 year old Felix who wants to change the world. Of course, every child once had a dream and that’s why we love them. Children don’t look for risks, don’t analyze the break even or looking for the return on invest of a campaign. They just say what they think. Probably that’s the reason why the dream of Felix Finkbeiner, Junior board member of the United Nations, came true.

Felix Finkbeiner will change the world

He was 9 years when his teacher asked him to give a presentation about the climate change and what this means for us. So he started his research and read about the 1 billion tree project from the United Nations. His logical conclusion to his classmates was „If they can plant one billion trees, we can plant at least one million“ – and a worldwide project was born.

Today it’s pretty normal for him talking to the top model Gisele Bündchen and Prince Albert of Monaco or standing next to Kofi Anan and Al Gore. He is giving presentations about the reduction of carbon dioxide at the climate conference in New York and gets standing ovations from politicians and celebrities. And he is not only talking but can also prove that he is doing something. Together with children from all over the world he has already planted 366.489 trees. That gives him the right to stay in front of a group of adults and say „Stop talking. Start planting.“

End of September started the international campaign „Stop talking. Start planting.“ with children and politicians from 56 countries and the goal to plant 1 million trees per country. The new website plant-for-the-planet.org will be the global communication platform and NTT Europe Online is glad to support Felix and his fellows for this amazing project and help minimizing the CO2 emissions worldwide. And what are you doing for the environment?
